In 1945, the Trinity test broke the Veil between the material, astral, iconic, and divine realms. In 2025, the world is unrecognizable in some ways, exactly the same in most others. Welcome to the Strange New Aeon.

- Strange New Aeon
The world still looks like ours—airports, smartphones, traffic jams, dating apps. But in 1945, the Trinity nuclear test at Alamogordo cracked the Veil: the membrane between the material world and the higher Realms (Assiah, Yetzirah, Briah, Atziluth). Old charms suddenly became repeatable procedures. Ritual magic went industrial.
The ancient Cabal—a secretive Hermetic society with Black Schools hidden inside universities and monasteries—had spent millennia mastering these Realms. Now governments and intelligence agencies were re-deriving their techniques in post-war labs. The occult arms race began before the Cold War had a name.
Beneath the visible world runs a layered occult stack:
Realms – four overlapping planes (matter, form, law, spirit) per Hermetic Kabbalah.
Tree of Life – routing map of ten sephiroth and twenty-two paths for aiming workings.
Sitra Achra – shadow-Tree of anti-sephiroth where power comes with corrosive costs.
Abyss & Qlippoth – null gulf between realities, haunted by shell-entities from broken Creations.
Archons – vast system-daemons enforcing domains like war, debt, bureaucracy, surveillance.
Decans – 36 zodiacal slices acting as rotating bias-channels for magic.
Egregores – self-perpetuating thought-forms born from collective belief.
Gods, demons, djinn – non-human powers from local spirits to ancient intelligences.
Magic is treated like computation: rituals are programs, circles are sandboxes, sigils are input. Most people never see any of this—they just feel a world grown inexplicably stranger, more surveilled, more designed.
Era: Post-1945 alternate modern history.
Tone: Urban fantasy, occult horror, paranoid conspiratorial.
Practice: Magic as computation; industrial occult research.
Powers: Cabal Remnant, Auster Gate (state occult bureau), corporate labs, street sorcerers.

In July 1945, the Trinity test did more than light a new sun over Alamogordo. For a few burning heartbeats, the four Realms (Assiah, Yetzirah, Briah, Atziluth) aligned with unnatural precision, and the Veil between them thinned like paper held too close to flame.
For most of humanity, nothing obvious happened. But those who already kept one foot in the hidden world felt the shock like an earthquake in their bones.
Old charms that "sometimes worked, sometimes didn't" began snapping into consistent, repeatable effects under the right decanic sky. Dreams grew crowded. Ghosts sharpened. "Improbable coincidences" multiplied in civil-service statistics.
The occult underground—Hermetic lodges, Sufi circles, Kabbalistic yeshivot, Vodou societies, the Cabal's Black Schools—recognized something terrifying:
The world had undergone a step-change in permeability.
The Veil, once a heavy membrane letting only the strongest rituals bleed through, was now riddled with cracks. Magic that once required generations of tradition could be formalized and reproduced like a lab protocol.
In Cabalist terms, Trinity was a global Crossing: Assiah brushed too close to the higher Realms, leaving permanent turbulence. Ley lines brightened. New nodes of power blossomed at radar stations, code-breaking bunkers, and industrial kill-zones.
From 1945 onward:
Ritual magic behaved like engineering instead of superstition.
The Realms became more tightly coupled; belief and narrative fed back into events faster.
Entities that had watched from a safe remove found it easier to reach in and touch Assiah.
Most occult historians agree: the Strange New Aeon begins at Trinity.
- The Demiurge & His Archons
- Demiurge
- /Archons?/
Behind the patched sky of Assiah, something is running the show.
The Demiurge isn't exactly a god—more like a stolen operating system pretending to be the universe. In the Strange New Aeon, he's the system administrator of a hijacked reality, enforcing defaults that keep beings ignorant, small, and predictable.
He's not seen, only inferred: in how easily surveillance states grow, in the persistence of debt and borders, in probability bending around wars. His "fingers" are the Archons—planetary-grade daemons each enforcing one domain of control:
Debt – cycles of scarcity and dependence; student loans and infernal pacts alike.
War – mobilization, escalation, and atrocity with industrial efficiency.
Silence – secrets, destroyed archives, classified truths.
Bureaucracy – forms, queues, and procedures that never resolve.
Hunger – for food, status, attention, addiction, endless scrolling.
Fear, Surveillance, Ideology – a whole ecology, each tied to a sphere of modern life.
To a trained Cabalist, Archons are addressable entities: mappable on the Tree, detectable through decanic weather, traceable through event patterns. Every catastrophe leaves a signature cluster of Archonic fingerprints.
From a procedural-thaumaturgy standpoint, the Demiurge is the root-level security model of reality:
Certain actions are privileged (state violence, institutional secrecy).
Certain changes require root access (mass miracles, open revelations).
Archons act as intrusion detection, responding to unauthorized workings with bad luck, censorship, or targeted misfortune.
Magic is, at least in part, privilege escalation inside a hostile system. The more your workings clash with the Demiurge's preferred outcomes, the more likely the Archons notice—and respond.
- Procedural Thaumaturgy
- /(?:magick?(?:al)?)/
- /spells?/
- /sigils?/
- /effectors?/
- /rituals?/
- /rites?/
Before the Strange New Aeon, magic was an art: temperamental, personal, tangled in legend. After Trinity, a new paradigm took hold:
Spells are programs. Circles are sandboxes.
Procedural thaumaturgy treats a working as an executable procedure run against a sympathy graph—the network of symbolic connections linking targets, tools, locations, and the caster. The Realms are the runtime; the ritual is the code.
A typical operation:
Specification – define the outcome precisely: not "good luck," but "increase contract-signing probability by 15% within 48 hours for this person."
Sympathy mapping – assemble names, photos, personal items, astrological data into a correspondence graph, often using the Tree of Life as a routing map.
Compilation – encode the operation across Realms via sigils, chants, and offerings (Assiah: physical components; Yetzirah: imagery; Briah: archetypes; Atziluth: pure intent).
Execution – run under controlled conditions: precise timing, decan selection, protective seals. Watch for feedback: omens, dreams, probability shifts.
Logging – record outcomes, adjust parameters, iterate.
Practitioners talk like engineers:
Poorly defined rituals are underspecified, prone to edge cases.
Hasty workings without wards are unsandboxed processes that may spawn qlippothic "zombies."
Overly general curses are wildcard queries pulling in far more than intended.
Decanic shifts and Archonic interference are race conditions and environment variables.
Black Schools maintain grimoires as source repositories: version-controlled ritual scripts with notes like "v2.3: reduced collateral hauntings" or "deprecated—attracts Archon-of-Debt attention post-1973." At the cutting edge, labs run computer-assisted ritual design, ML-analyzed omens, and real-time decanic sensor grids. They call it Occult DevOps.
- The Realms and the Veil
- Assiah
- Yetzirah
- Briah
- Atziluth
- Veil
- /Realms?/
Reality in the Strange New Aeon is layered, not flat. Four intertwined Realms:
Assiah – material world: cities, bodies, guns, phones, blood.
Yetzirah – astral: dreams, emotions, imaginal landscapes, near-spirit world.
Briah – archetypal: gods-as-roles, mythic patterns, deep structure of symbols.
Atziluth – pure intention and first cause: raw Will, divine fiat.
These aren't stacked like pancakes—they interpenetrate, with the Veil as a semi-permeable membrane. Before Trinity, the Veil was thick and mostly one-way: things could fall down (an idea becoming a movement), but going up or sideways was rare and costly. After the Parting, it became thinner and more dynamically responsive, especially around nodes of power and during volatile decanic weather.
Signs of cross-Realm traffic:
Sudden déjà vu, as if events are "replaying."
Meaningful coincidence (synchronicity) blurring symbolic and physical causation.
Persistent "soft spots" where ghosts or nightmares bleed into mundane life.
The Cabal uses the Tree of Life as a routing map for these flows: each sephirah is a stable attractor for certain qualities; paths are preferred gradients for power and intent; the Abyss is the break where meaning disintegrates.
The Veil itself has measurable properties:
Thickness – resistance to intrusion (churches, banks, surveilled zones: thick).
Grain – preferred direction of bleed-through (visions vs. poltergeists).
Damage – burns, tears, corruption from war zones, mass ritual, or ancient sacrifice.
Crossing the Veil deliberately is never safe. Crossing it unintentionally is much worse.
- Gates & Soft Places
- /gates?/
- /(?:soft|thin) places?/
- Veil
Not all parts of the Veil are equal. Some locations are thin—worn spots where Realms bleed together. Others are pierced, forming gates that link Assiah directly to Yetzirah, Briah, or worse.
Soft places share common traits:
Liminal — crossroads, borders, airports, ring roads, docks.
Trauma-soaked — battlefields, hospitals, prisons, refugee camps.
Attention-dense — great libraries, stock exchanges, data centers, collider rings.
Geomantically active — ley nodes, now updated to include power plants, radar nets, and fiber backbones.
Types of gates and thinnings:
Natural — centuries of human presence and belief (old crossroads, standing stones, shrines).
Engineered — deliberately built via ritual, geomantic city planning, or aligned infrastructure.
Scar gates — torn open by war, genocide, or nuclear testing; often lead to qlippothic shells.
Seasonal/decanic — open only under specific skies, lunar phases, or event anniversaries.
Control is contested. The Cabal wraps known gates in "private research grounds." Militaries fence them as test ranges. Local cults tend older ones in exchange for favors. Auster Gate classifies them as assets, hazards, or "must be disappeared."
Negotiating with whatever lives beyond a gate is a refined art. Dragging something through by force is notoriously unwise—entities from Yetzirah or Briah don't always survive Assiah's constraints. Some shatter into ghosts. Others don't shatter at all.
A gate is a shortcut: to power, escape, knowledge, or annihilation.
